Cell Phone

Less than 10 minutes on a cell phone can lead to changes in the cells of the brain associated with cell division and cancer, and suggests a new study conducted by researchers from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, and published in the journal Biochemistry.
Previously, and maintained the integrity of the advocates of a cell phone that phones can not cause brain damage because of the microwave radiation emitted at a very low level of heat cells in the body. But in the new study, the changes began in the biological processes at the level of energy lower than those used by regular phone, even without a heating.
"Guidelines for the safety of assume [that] the health effects of mobile phones can only occur when significant heating of body tissue occurs [but] this study shows biological changes in response to low-level mobile phone radiation - something that can also have effects on health, "said Graham Philips of the non-profit organization Powerwatch British.

Researchers exposed human and rat cells to low-level radiation at a frequency of 875 MHz, a frequency similar to that used by most cellular phones. The intensity of radiation is much less than those used by most phones, however.
Even so, within 10 minutes the scientists observed changes within the cells. Was running a chemical switch to regulate cell division - the key that has been linked to a variety of cancers.
There was no direct evidence of cancer inducement in the current study. However, researchers point out that the changes that occur on low-level radiation is thermal in nature, and he said earlier that impossible. Thus, the study challenges the entire basis of that assumption was based on cell phones "for safety.
"The significance lies in showing cells do not respond to cell phone radiation in a non-thermal," said co-author Roni Seger. "We used radiation power levels that were about a tenth of that produced by a normal laptop. Was clearly observed changes do not occur by heating."
"This helps explain why mobile phone was linked to an increase in radiation oncology," said consumer health advocate Mike Adams."Until now, skeptics say that the radiation were not severe enough to cause warming of the cells, but now we learn there can be big changes on the cellular levels are much lower than the exposure."
